Creator workflow

From camera idea to addon.

Studio is a focused visual editor for Sandy Base intros. The browser preview shows the editor safely; desktop-only tools will connect projects to a local Garry's Mod installation.

01 / ANIMATE

Player-relative direction

Animate camera position, look targets, FOV, roll, fades, and letterboxing around live eyes, head, chest, and feet anchors.

02 / VERIFY

Built for the real handoff

Generated intros use Sandy Base collision handling, body visibility protection, hidden viewmodels, and the universal first-person exit.

03 / PACKAGE

Local, inspectable builds

The desktop edition will validate and build with local GMod tools. Sandy Base Studio does not request or store Steam credentials.

Before you create

Clear about what is ready.

Studio is useful today as a browser preview and reviewed source candidate. Public desktop distribution is deliberately narrower until the remaining platform and signing work is complete.

Accessibility direction

  • Keyboard-visible focus and keyboard-operable editor controls
  • Reduced-motion handling in the page and intro metadata
  • Readable status text that does not rely on color alone
  • Responsive layouts tested from the minimum desktop viewport

Public beta accessibility work is ongoing; no formal conformance certification is claimed.

Current limitations

  • No signed or notarized desktop installer yet
  • No public Windows, Linux, or Intel Mac package yet
  • No automatic updater—return here to check new versions
  • Desktop GMod preview and builds require a local GMod install
  • Camera and presentation tracks lead this first editor release

Runtime compatibility

Sandy Base Runtime 1.5.1

Studio-generated intros target the shared Sandy Base Runtime. Install and verify the Runtime in Garry's Mod before testing a compiled intro.
